The 82 year old Queensland native is known for his unprecedented $50,000,000 donation to Queensland Institute Of Medical Research (QIMR), the biggest single philanthropic donation by any Australian citizen.
Ultimately, QIMR, one of the biggest medical research institute’s in the southern hemisphere was renamed to the Berghofer Medical Research Institute.
